Turn the ordinary to extraordinary with Lynx Grills

There’s something about grilling outdoors that can turn an ordinary, everyday slab of meat into something special and exciting. Cookouts are a part of Americana: It’s hard to imagine a Memorial Day or Fourth of July without cooking out, and when we can’t, we end up feeling as though we’ve missed a big part of the holiday.

Even though part of the mystique of grilling out involved that rustic, “back to nature” feeling, the truth is that modern grills can be incredibly sophisticated and easy to use. At Guy Gunter Home outdoor kitchens are special to us, and it goes without saying that the centerpiece to any outdoor kitchen setup is the mighty grill itself. You can find one of our favorites – Lynx grills – here at Guy Gunter, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more perfect complement to your outdoor kitchen oasis.

Lynx grills feature seamless welded construction, rather than mechanical fasteners, which means there are no seams where grease and moisture can gather. Cleaning is a breeze, durability is second to none, and the integrated body of perfect steel gives a look and feel of unmistakable quality.

Can you smell the sizzle already? If not, how about a little guidance and inspiration?

If the grill is truly a centerpiece of American life, then the Perfect Burger is, of course, its perfect companion. And here’s a recipe to bring those burgers even closer to mouthwatering perfection!

To create 4 Perfect Burgers, you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ pounds of ground chuck (80% lean)

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 6-ounce package of onion soup mix

  • 1 ½ tablespoons of canola oil

  • 4 hamburger buns

The preparation is simplicity itself. In a large bowl, combine your meat, the egg, the soup mix and the garlic, and divide the mix into four equal portions. Form each portion loosely into a ¾ inch burger, and form a deep “crater” in the middle, which will help shape the burger is it cooks.

Sear your burgers with high heat as soon as you get them on the grill. This will seal in juices: Perfection in burgers requires moist, juicy meat; dry burgers are Un-American.

Once you’ve got your meat “sealed,” then you can go to work with the salt and pepper. Keep in mind that you’ll lose some of your seasoning in the cooking process, so you can be generous here.

From this point, your cooking time can vary somewhat, depending upon how well you like your burgers. A rule of thumb over medium-to-high head is 3 minutes for the first side, and 4 for the second for a medium burger. (If you’re into cheese – and who isn’t? – add your cheese at the 3-minute mark on the second side.)

For those of you looking for a healthier alternative, you can substitute ground turkey for your ground chuck, but be more conscientious of cooking turkey burgers thoroughly; give those five minutes on that second side.

Now, just add three hungry friends, a few fixin’s and your outdoor experience will be complete.
